We’re developing next-generation products for the U.S. DOD with our development expenditure in the year focused on continuing the development of the IHPS helmet and VTP body armour.
We have an in-house lab providing innovative research and development capabilities, creating new polymer formulas and expanding the Group's understanding of polymer technology.
We manufacture the world’s most advanced underwater life-support capability for global military divers. Our underwater rebreather is capable of supporting an individual for 4-6 hours at extreme work rates and depths.
Unlimited potential
We have been supplying protection solutions to the UK Ministry of Defence and other allies since the 1920’s and are a primary supplier of integrated protective equipment to NATO and the United States Department of Defense Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Special Operations Forces.
Over 2.3 million of our M50 respirators have been made. It’s the most advanced general service respiratory protection mask to date and the military’s choice with every serving member of the U.S. Armed Forces issued with one.

Our thinkSTEM Ambassadors visit the local schools and host programmes to encourage and promote the STEM subjects and related careers. They talk about what it’s like to have a career in STEM, the career paths they can take and how to get there.
We are also an official partner and community partner of Bath Rugby for the 2021/22 season and beyond, supporting the Attacking Maths programme, developing children’s numeracy skills and promoting health and wellbeing through classroom learning and physical exercise, and supporting Bath Rugby's specialised programme designed to grow and develop the women and girls' game and increase female participation across Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire.
Founded
We were founded in the UK in 1885 and quickly established ourselves as a rubber manufacturer producing a diverse range of products in our early years. Since then, we have undergone multiple transformations to become a leading provider of life critical personal protection systems.
